Friday Focus: Flourishes Favorites

Honestly, when I said, "Let's do a Friday Focus on our Flourishes favorites" I didn't realize how difficult it would be. Sounded easy enough, as I have so many favorites... but how do I choose which favorite for my focus? Or... how many favorites can I fit on one card? As I started working, things became clear -- I rarely make any card without using at least a few of my Flourishes favorites.

Hi, stampers! It's me, Leslie, playing favorites today. Here's my card:

And these are the favorites I used to put it all together:

Florals -- A Year in Flowers, any one of the three sets, is a recent favorite. These Cyclamen are from Set 3. Flourishes offers a bountiful garden of amazing botanicals... and it's okay to pick these flowers!

Designer paper -- BasicGrey, Memory Box, Cosmo Cricket, 7 Gypsies... The scaled down patterns of the 6x6 pads are well suited to cards and smaller projects, and they're easy to store on a shelf. One pad guarantees perfect color matches and coordinating patterns.

Spellbinders -- I want them all, really. Nestabilities, Frameabilities, Shapeabilities, Borderabilities, Pierceabilities... Oh, my goodness! However did I manage without them?

Silk ribbon -- Let me just sink into a bed of these decadent silks and wrap myself up in their luscious folds!

Pearls -- Got pearls? Got elegance! These days I love anything self adhesive for those easy finishing touches.

I also used watercolor paper and Palette Burnt Umber so I could paint my image with dye-based inks. Did you know Palette inks are waterproof? I even slipped a little of Flourishes Classic White cardstock in there so I'd have a nice surface for stamping the script. That's quite a few favorites on one card!

A few of the Flourishes girls are sharing their favorites today, too. Why not pay them a visit?

Thanks for your time today! Happy stamping!

Timeless Tuesday Challenge

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC19)!!!! Thanks so much to all of you who participated in last week's "frame it" challenge. Keep reading to find out who won!

For those of you who are new, the Friends of Flourishes blog team are bringing you exciting and different challenges each week. Everyone can PLAY and anyone can WIN! Make sure you continue reading to find out how.

This week Cindy Haffner is our host. She is challenging us to use designer papers. Now, I realize that designer papers are about as necessary to card making as spellbinders die cuts, but there is a lot that you can do with designer papers. You can stamp on them, use border punches, color them, paper piece, die cut shapes, cut out images to use as a focal point, or just to enhance the look of your card. Whichever option you choose to do, we would love to see what you create.

Let's go see what the blog design team has created for you with the "DP" Challenge!

Up first this week is Cindy Haffner our challenge host. She is using the Lilac set. Cindy has combined this set with the beautiful basicgray wisteria dp. Cindy has colored this image and the oval silhouette beautifully!!! I love the fanciful details Cindy has done with the designer paper. Layered punch borders and paper piercing adds quite a bit of flair to this beautiful card!!! Wonderful card, Cindy!!!

Next up this week is Connie McCotter. She is using the newly released A Man's View stamp set. This set is a fabulous set for making manly cards and with Father's Day right around the corner, now is the time to get it. Connie has combined some wonderful colors and designer papers to decorate the room. She has paper pieced the chair, the carpet, and the lamp for a wonderful manly feel. She colored the rest of the images to create some visual interest and coordination with the paper pieced furnishings. Lovely card, Connie!!!

The next card is Dee Jackson. She is using the newly released DIY Topiaries set. She is using some Memory Box designer papers. This particular pattern is very soft and subtle, but adds enough detail to create visual interest. Love the coloring and shading on the topiary, Dee!!! Dee finished her card with some chocolate organdy ribbon. Beautifully done, Dee!!!

Next, is Kimberly Crawford. Kimberly is using the newly released DIY Topiaries set, too. This set is so versatile in many ways. There are several topiaries that come in this set. Kim chose the three-tiered topiary. She colored the topiary and added flower soft for extra dimension and detail creating a true topiary-like feel. I love how Kim created visual interest with her designer paper as the background. Lovely button detailing, too!!! Terrific card, Kim!!!

Up next is Silke Ledlow . She is using the newly released A Man's View stamp set as well. This set is so versatile for making many different looking masculine cards. I love the silhouette image of the recliner with the sentiment quote stamped over the top. Silke has used some wonderful colors and pattern designer papers in a fabulous layout. Love the hardware detailing, too!!! Fabulously done, Silke!!!

Last up this week is Betty Wright. I am using Coffee with Friends set. I love paper piecing the cups. I decided to go all out out with four columns of paper pieced coordinated coffee cups. I love the finished look. It is bold and dramatic. I used some much loved designer paper and chose different patterns to stamp my cups on and cut out individually. I finished my card with a sentiment from the Timeless Quotes set.
