Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC55)!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC55)! Thanks so much for playing along with us last week in the "All About Me" challenge!

It is the last Tuesday of the month so we have a guest challenge host! This month's guest host is Iwona Palamountain (Chupa). Iwona comes all the way from Australia with her challenge! Thanks so much for being a challenge host for us this month, Iwona!  Iwona is challenging us to use flowers! Whether they are printed flower designer papers, stamped, punch created, or store bought, put some flowers on your card this week! We would love to see what you create!

Let's go see what Iwona created using flowers!

Iwona is using A Year of Flowers 2 stamp set.   Iwona is a landscape artist and loves all kinds of flowers.  She thinks it would be impossible to pick one favorite flower.   However, for her card she did need to narrow down the choices.  She chose the Morning Glory because it is one of  her many favorites.   With today's challenge to use flowers, Flourishes definitely offers many gorgeous floral images to choose from.    Iwona watercolored the Morning Glories.  She added  Inkssentials White gel for highlighting.  She stamped her image on a textured paper that makes the image look like it was colored on canvas.  I love that effect!    Iwona added some sewing to the edges and added touches of  lavendar pearls to the center of the flowers.  She finished her gorgeous card with a lush burgandy satin bow!  Beautifully done, Iwona!  Please check out Iwona's blog for more card details!

Check out the other FOF blog team designers to see which flowers they used for the flower challenge!

Friday Focus: Flourishes Favorites

Honestly, when I said, "Let's do a Friday Focus on our Flourishes favorites" I didn't realize how difficult it would be. Sounded easy enough, as I have so many favorites... but how do I choose which favorite for my focus? Or... how many favorites can I fit on one card? As I started working, things became clear -- I rarely make any card without using at least a few of my Flourishes favorites.

Hi, stampers! It's me, Leslie, playing favorites today. Here's my card:

And these are the favorites I used to put it all together:

Florals -- A Year in Flowers, any one of the three sets, is a recent favorite. These Cyclamen are from Set 3. Flourishes offers a bountiful garden of amazing botanicals... and it's okay to pick these flowers!

Designer paper -- BasicGrey, Memory Box, Cosmo Cricket, 7 Gypsies... The scaled down patterns of the 6x6 pads are well suited to cards and smaller projects, and they're easy to store on a shelf. One pad guarantees perfect color matches and coordinating patterns.

Spellbinders -- I want them all, really. Nestabilities, Frameabilities, Shapeabilities, Borderabilities, Pierceabilities... Oh, my goodness! However did I manage without them?

Silk ribbon -- Let me just sink into a bed of these decadent silks and wrap myself up in their luscious folds!

Pearls -- Got pearls? Got elegance! These days I love anything self adhesive for those easy finishing touches.

I also used watercolor paper and Palette Burnt Umber so I could paint my image with dye-based inks. Did you know Palette inks are waterproof? I even slipped a little of Flourishes Classic White cardstock in there so I'd have a nice surface for stamping the script. That's quite a few favorites on one card!

A few of the Flourishes girls are sharing their favorites today, too. Why not pay them a visit?

Laura

Thanks for your time today! Happy stamping!

Timeless Tuesday!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge!!!! Thanks so much to all of you who played along with us last week. It was so fun checking out all the cards. Keep reading to find out the winner from last week's challenge.

The Friends of Flourishes blog team are bringing you exciting and different challenges each week. Everyone can PLAY and anyone can WIN! Make sure you continue reading to find out how.

This week Dee Jackson is hosting the Timeless Tuesday Challenge. Flowers, flowers everywhere!!! Whether they are stamped, silk, real, paper, felt, fabric, dried, crocheted, or clear, if it looks like a flower it is a flower!!! So, this week your challenge is to use flowers!!!!

Come along with me and let us go see what the blop team created using flowers!!!!

First up is Dee Jackson. Dee has created a flower garden of daffodils and poppies. She is using the Flourishes newly released Signs of Spring set and combined it with the ever popular Poppy Patch set. Love the arrangement Dee created and her coloring is wonderful. These sets compliment each other beautifully. Each flower has been cut out and popped up to create dimension. Great look and effect!!!!!

Take a look at this wonderful card Silke Ledlow has a created. She uses the Flourishes newly released Signs of Spring set as well. This set is so versatile. I just love her beautifully colored basket of flowers and how she cut out the little chicks and popped them up to create dimension. Love the two flower primas with button detailing at the top. Wonderful card!!!

Becca Feeken is also using the newly released Signs of Spring set. She is showcasing a flower within a flower for her challenge card. The lily from the set is at the heart of the sunflower diecut stems. The colors and coloring are fabulous. Love the flower tole technique used with this flower, too. It creates beautiful dimension. The punched border frames the card so beautifully, too.

Next is Betty Wright. I am using the Flourishes newly released Signs of Spring set on my card, too. I focused on only ONE flower. I decided to watercolor this beautiful flower. Love the size of this flower. It can definitely be a true stand alone. I used some black satin ribbon and Basic Gray Urban Prairie dp and brads found at the Flourishes store to finish my card.

Last up, is Cindy Haffner's . Her card uses the Birds and Vine set. I just love this bold color combo and the way Cindy spotlighted two of the birds is just stunning. Look at those tiny white punched out little dots she used to emphasize the flowers on the vine. I love the fan layout with sentiment tag. Great prima flower detailing, too. Beautiful card!!!!

Make sure to check out each blog team members links to get more card specifics. As always thanks so much for stopping by.
