Flourishes Friday!

I love Fridays. Not only is it one day from the weekend but I have the opportunity to blog about some fabulously talented stampers and see what they cooked up during the week with Flourishes stamps! To say they inspire me would be a HUGE understatement!

With this first card, I joked with Laura Fredrickson that it is so yummy, I wondered what food group it might fit into! It just looks so sugary sweet to me. The soft pinks and blues from the Basic Grey, Euphoria paper pack with the soft rhinestones and touches of glitter--- ooo la la! The floral images are from Flourishes' Summer Blossoms set. The sentiment is from Fantasy Floral Garden. For more on this card, stop by Laura's place at Scrapnextras! This next card from Cindy Lawrence is one of those bright, happy yet elegant cards. I love how she mixes up the greens and orangey rust colors. I am not sure if I have ever put these colors together -- but doesn't it make you want to try? The faux stitching and sparkle of rhinestones just makes the whole card layout sing-- can you hear it?? :-) Cindy used the Spring Ephemeral set and the Many Sentiments set as well! Cindy Haffner's creation has the word bold and beautiful written all over it. I love the black and red with the contrast of the light pink and white. The dots add a bit of punch and how she layered the flower from the Floral Fantasy set is just lovely! It all adds up to one very pretty card! How would you like to go to Becca Feeken's house for Thanksgiving and see this elegant menu awaiting you? If you look closely, she used the Damask background stamp for the base of her creation and then added computer text, fun punches and a Spellbinder tag die. You really need to visit her at Amazing Paper Grace to see all the elements and close up photos! It "is" amazing!!
This last one from Joan Bardee is perfect to get us all in the Christmas spirit! This one is so classy and could easily be recreated in bulk if you needed to! (That's my test of a great Christmas card!) The tree is the main image from O Christmas Tree. I love that hint of gold with the gold cording! The wonderful sheer ribbon is May Arts Dark Red Sheer. Love how she added the pearls to give this card some pizazz!!! Hope you enjoy the creations! I sure did! I love sharing what these ladies come up with! TGIF!

This beauty by Linda Duke is a perfect picture of autumn! Her stunning use of fall colors on glossy paper makes the Forest of Trees set a must have. I can see this card made in different colors for the different seasons. To see how Linda created this effect check out her blog here.

Julie Koerber’s delicate card shown here uses the Birds and Vine set. I love how she coordinates the bird and sentiment stamps with ribbon to show the bird flying away! More details can be found on her blog here.

Barb Schram’s beautifully colored card showcases the Mixed Greetings set, from our Simply/Sophisticated line. She used copic markers to get that rich color – see her blog here for more details.

  Now for the new releases!!
  
  First up is a large set called Birds and Vine, approximately 8 x 6. This set of nine stamps was created by Marcella Hawley exclusively for Flourishes and what a beauty it is. The large floral vine image is about 5.5 x 4.25 so it can be used either as a background or pair it up with the bird silhouettes for the focal point! We love how Marcella also incorporated a smaller version, complete with birds as well as sentiments that complement the images. Now, if you don’t have an acrylic block for this large image, Flourishes sells an individual 6 x 5 block or a set that contains the 6 x 5 block and other smaller blocks. This card by Susan Roberts shows the beauty and delicate nature of a few of the stamps in this set!

Next up is another set from Marcella, called Forest of Trees and if you are looking for a great tree set for all seasons, this is it! This set of seven stamps, approximately 4 x 6, will have you stamping all year long! All seasons are covered here! This card by Julie Koerber uses a fall color scheme - what a beauty! Using different colors and you can celebrate spring, summer and winter as well!

Rounding out this month’s release is Mixed Greetings. The concept and initial sketches were done by our own design team member Leslie Miller and then finalized by Diane Roche. Leslie had this great idea of mixing and matching bowls, contents and greetings to provide a stamper with greater versatility. This is the latest set in a series we call Simply/Sophisticated. Use this set to make quick and easy cards, or go all out with designer paper and embellishments when you need that sophisticated look! This card by Leslie Miller pairs up the fruit image and basket image with one of the three sentiments in the set. Incorporating designer paper, ribbons and pearls gives this card that added touch. Now take a look at this same fruit image, but with a different basket and a simpler design. Just two colors for the card and white embossing for the main image - no coloring! The only embellishment is a simple white satin ribbon. You can add a greeting or leave the front blank and use either card with a fruit gift basket, or with a basket of home grown treats from your garden. Go simple or sophisticated!

Look What Joan's Been Up To!

When I saw this creation from our Friends Of Flourish blogger Joan Bardee, I immediately thought -- how did she color that pot? Doesn't it look exactly like copper? Well, the answer is Copic Markers! She decided to take the larger bouquet of flowers from Flourishes' Summer on the Patio and turn it into a fall bouquet by using autumn colors. I am just starting to dabble in this kind of coloring so looking at something like this is amazing to me -- I see the potential! I also love ink she sponged onto her main piece to make it look even more rustic. Such a fabulous card!
